Refresher Day Courses
Next Course 8/3/24
PRICE: $220
Full day courses that run on multiple date throughout the year from the Alpha Canine Centre. The course is designed to refresh customers knowledge and refine their skills. It is suitable for customers who have completed 20 Day Board and Train, 4 Day Fast Track, private lessons, or are in level 3 or above in Alpha Weekly Classes.
Spend a full day working in a small group with a trainer and make sure you’re getting the most out of your dog’s training!

The Alpha Video Resource Centre has been developed to help people train their dogs from home! It is suitable for anyone with prior Alpha Dog Training experience. It includes videos on all of our obedience exercises from start to finish. We’ll show you how to teach the exercises from scratch and what the finished product will look like.
It is perfect for people who need extra help with the obedience exercises; Whether you’ve taken a break from classes, haven’t trained with us for a while, struggle to remember the exercises between classes or you’re keen for some extra help to get stuck into your training journey.
Please keep in mind this resource is for teaching obedience exercises only and does not include videos on behavioural problem solving. If you have a behavioural issue that you are trying to fix then please speak to a trainer or contact us.

Alpha Doggy Playcare
A safe, social and fun experience for your dog. We are open Monday-Friday 6:30am-6:30pm. We are staffed by professional dog trainers which means we are capable of accepting dogs of various breeds, sizes and temperaments. We are able to take on many dogs that other doggy daycares would turn away. We include basic manners and good behaviour shaping training with all of our dogs and can touch up your obedience training when requested!
All dogs having their first visit at Alpha Doggy Playcare will undergo an ‘assessment’. The dog will work with a trainer to get the dog listening and seeing how they behave around people and other dogs. The dogs will be introduced to our well trained staff dogs before being integrated into the play yards.

On & Off Lead Socialisation
Available for free to all Alpha Weekly Customers. The off-lead socialisation session is supervised by Alpha’s professional dog trainers. It gives owners an opportunity to socialise their dogs with others in a safe and controlled environment. Owners get the opportunity to practice their off lead control with the guidance of professional Alpha instructors.
Customers must first pass the on lead socialisation class. This class is assessing your dog’s response to warning tone to prepare them for being off lead; ultimately we need to establish that your dog is listening to you before letting them socialise off lead. Some customers pass the on lead session quickly and some will need to undertake multiple classes until they are ready to pass into the off lead session.

Rehabilitation Classes
What to Expect
This is a specialist class that teaches your dog how to behave in a socially acceptable and controlled way. The class is suitable for dog owners who need to rehabilitate serious behaviours; such as aggression, anxiety, fear or over excitability.
It is a safe environment for dogs that are typically unsafe or difficult to control around other dogs. People attending this class need to have some prior learning of the Alpha training method. Weekly class customers need to have completed at least 4 classes in level 1 before attending this class.

Are you afraid to walk your dog because you feel like you have no control?

Customers must have completed some prior training before attending this class. Knowledge of basic obedience and the training method is essential. If you have not trained with us before, you can find our training services here.

Saturday Obedience Walks
Social walks go for approximately 2 hours per session. The walks are weather dependent and updates can be found on the ‘Alpha Dogercise’ Facebook page. The walks are a great opportunity to have support training your dog under real life distraction or can be used as a stepping stone for owners who are rehabilitating their dogs. Owners are required to be in level 2 or above at Alpha Dog Training and the dogs must be relatively social.
What to expect from these walks
Warm up stretches
Random exercises throughout the walk including:
Free walking
Heeling
Step away’s
Recalls
Basic agility
Working under random distractions that you come across; such as bikes, wildlife, other dogs etc
A social environment with the opportunity to ask questions and get training advice
Coffee break at a local cafe
When: Saturday morning’s at 8:30am-10:30am
